YORK Abraham C. Trent, 44, entered into rest on Saturday, January 15, 2011, after a brief illness at 4:30 a.m. at his residence. Abraham was born in Chester, on October 29, 1966, and was the son of Norma J. (Hoskin) Eckard of Seven Valleys, and the late Edwin D. Eckard, who entered into rest on November 8, 2008 , and his biological mother, the late Dorothy M. Trent who entered into rest in 1968. Abraham worked in Computer Technology for the County of York and was a member of the Viking Athletic Association. In addition to his mother, Norma J. Eckard of Seven Valleys, he is survived by brothers, Michael Trent of Chester, Daniel Trent of Philadelphia, Steven Trent of Georgia, Edwin Eckard II of York, David Trent of York, Michael Eckard and Troy Eckard, both of Seven Valleys; and seven sisters, Judith Trent of Knoxville, Tenn., Esther Lehman of Dallastown, Rebekah Trent of Georgia, Synda Salamon of Florida, Sarah Hudson of South Carolina, Rachael Jones of Illinois and Julie Snider of York; and aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences on Saturday from 12 to 1 p.m. at Salem United Church of Christ, 24 Franklin St., Jacobus. A Memorial Service to celebrate Abraham's life will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church. The Rev. Fred A. Walthour, of Salem United Church of Christ, will officiate.
