Agostinho Moniz, of Red Lion, entered into rest at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the age of 74. He was the husband of Maria Jose Alves Da Silva, to whom he married on March 5, 1973, sharing 51 years together.

Born in Machico, Portugal on August 28, 1949, Agostinho was the son of Rosalina Moniz Paulo, of Portugal and the late Manuel Correia. He served in the Portugese Armed Forces and owned a bakery for over 30 years, eventually retiring and selling his business prior to moving to Red Lion to be with his daughter. He attended St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Dallastown.

Besides his wife, Agostinho leaves his daughter, Carla Da Silva Ortega and husband, Nelson of Red Lion and his son, Gonzalo Da Silva and wife, Omaira Rodriguez of Spain. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Thiago Ortega of Red Lion and Agustin Rodriguez of Spain, along with his three siblings, Rosa Moniz of Portugal, Fatima Moniz of Venezuela and Ana Moniz and husband, Angelo Gouveia of Venezuela. He leaves his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion is assisting the family with arrangements.
