Almeda "Pickel" M. (McCleary) Olphin, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 4 a.m. at York Hospital at the age of 88. She was the wife of Charles H. Olphin, who entered into eternal rest on February 10, 1996. Almeda was born on June 1, 1926 in Lower Windsor Twp. and was the daughter of the late Owen J. and Effie M. (Grothe) McCleary. Almeda worked for the former Box Craft Factory in Red Lion for 14 years and then she went to work at Danskin retiring after 18 years of service. She was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church in Windsor. Survivors include four daughters, Phyllis M. Fourhman and husband, Larry of Yoe, Betty Jane Keller and husband, Robert of York, Ruth Ann Eaton and husband, Gary of Wrightsville, Elsie Marie Reichard and companion, Dale Hawkes of Wrightsville; a son, Paul E. Olphin of Wrightsville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four great- great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Saturday, April 25th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Almeda will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. Kathy Harvey Nelson, officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran (Zeigler's) Cemetery in Seven Valleys.
