YORK Almeda K. (Hildebrand) Sanders, 93, entered into rest after a brief illness at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. She was the wife of Paul G. Sanders, who entered into rest on June 9, 2002. Born in York Haven, on July 22, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John and Rachel (Strickler) Hildebrand. She was a homemaker and a very longtime and faithful member of Longstown United Methodist Church in York. Surviving are two sons, Spurgeon P. Sanders of Red Lion and Robert J. Sanders of Tioga; two daughters, Rosella V. Myers of York and husband, Jacob, and Donna L. Scott of York; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The service will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Deb Port, of Longstown U.M. Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Almeda was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother to her many grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake and was very good at it. She enjoyed canning and making homemade jelly and she loved her flowers and getting her hands dirty in her garden . She will be sadly missed by everyone.
