Amaryllis Sangrey Hannigan, formerly of Snyder's Corner, Red Lion, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 12, 2021, at 9:09 PM, at the age of 90, from Manor Care, Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Paul Robert Hannigan, who entered into rest on August 19, 2019, to whom she had married on March 31, 1950 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, New Bridgeville. Amaryllis was born in Chanceford Township on March 13, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Jacob Valentine and Olive Catherine Josephine (Sangrey) Jones. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church where she was a pianist and organist for many years. Amaryllis and Paul had identical twin sons, Ryan Robert Hannigan (his wife Kim) of Mechanicsburg, and Duane Paul Hannigan who entered into rest on August 16, 2019. She was a loving grandmother to Jesse Hannigan and Jordan of Berwyn, Matthew Hannigan and Alyssa of Lancaster, Sarah (Hannigan) Millar and Kevin of Groton, MA, Michael Hannigan and Heather of Red Lion, Heather Hannigan and Kelly Mizelle of Harrisburg, and Alyssa Hannigan of Vallejo, CA. Amaryllis leaves a half-brother, Jacob Valentine Jones, Jr. and Shay of Wrightsville, along with five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Mae (Jones) Hannigan, and a grandson, Shawn Paul Hannigan. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion.
