Obituary

Anna Mae (McLaughlin) O'Bryan, of Bel Air, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the remarkable age of 100. She was the beloved wife of the late Oakley Truman O'Bryan, who preceded her in death on January 6, 2005.

Born on April 12, 1925, in Baltimore, Maryland, Anna Mae was the daughter of the late Chester Arthur McLaughlin and Martha L. (Schaper) McLaughlin. She graduated from the former Delta High School in 1944 and went on to work as a secretary and receptionist for both Oaks Washer Service and Oaks Vacuum Cleaner Company. In addition, she was a dedicated private teacher of organ and piano. Her passion for music inspired generations, with some former students returning to her with their own pupils for lessons.

A gifted musician from an early age, Anna Mae began playing the piano at the age of 8. By 14, she was already serving as the organist at Slateville Presbyterian Church. Her lifelong devotion to church music spanned decades: she served as organist at the Evangelical Methodist Church for 40 years and played for more than 20 years at her home congregation, Forest Ridge Baptist Church.

Anna Mae is survived by her son, Ernest Allan O'Bryan, and his wife, Suzanne, of Rising Sun, Maryland; her daughter, Wanda Louise Wallace, of Bel Air, Maryland; and her cherished grandchildren, Elisabeth S. O'Bryan, Daniel E. O'Bryan, and Christopher P. Wallace.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA 17314. A second viewing will take place at the funeral home on Monday, June 9, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, officiated by her pastor, Jeffrey Berg. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Kirkwood. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements on behalf of Harkins Funeral Home.
