Obituary

Chandler Peyton Adams, of Red Lion, Pennsylvania, entered into eternal rest at WellSpan York Hospital on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Chandler was 22 years old.

Born at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 28, 2003, Chandler was the beloved son of Nathan Adams III (Kathy) of Bowie, Maryland and Tarnya N. Anderson (Devalin) of Red Lion, Pennsylvania.

Chandler leaves behind his loving family, including his older sister, Mariah Alexis Greene-Adams of Lower Windsor Township and fiancée Shauwn Hines; his older brother, Braxton Nathan Adams and fiancée Amanda Tabb of Red Lion; his half-brother, Caden A. Adams; step-sister, Alani Alleyne; and step-brother, Akil Alleyne.

Chandler will be dearly missed by his cherished nieces and nephews, Quincy Malik Thomas, Xena Grace Hines, Michael Jeffrey “MJ” Hines, and Eastynn Drew Adams. Chandler shared a particularly special bond with Quincy that was much more like that of brothers than uncle and nephew considering they were 12 years apart.

Chandler was preceded in death by his infant brother, Donovan W. Adams; his maternal grandmother, Almeda Mary Kathleen Bratcher (Fisher); and his maternal grandfather, Gary A. Best.

Chandler is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Wannetta Hepburn of Maryland, and his special grandparents, Nathan Adams, Jr. and Effie Adams of North Carolina. Chandler treasured the time spent with Grandad and Grandma Effie. Whether helping in the garage, passing tools, listening to stories, or enjoying one of Grandma Effie’s home-cooked meals around the kitchen table, those moments left an indelible mark on his heart and helped shape the man he became.

From a very young age, Chandler earned the nickname “Da Mayor.” His philosophical outlook, rational thinking, and ability to analyze situations far beyond his years made him someone people naturally turned to for advice and perspective. He always sought to understand not only what happened, but why, and what could be done to make things better.

A proud 2022 graduate of Red Lion Area Senior High School, Chandler played center on the football team. At the time of his passing, he was pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity at HACC.

At sixteen years old, Chandler's friend Everett helped him obtain his first job at Marcello’s Pizza in Red Lion. There, Chandler eagerly helped wherever needed, whether delivering food or assisting customers. Just as Everett helped him, Chandler later helped his friend Colton secure employment at Marcello’s as well. After three and a half years with Marcello’s, Chandler joined the United States Postal Service as a rural route carrier, where he remained employed until his passing. At times when Marcello’s was short-handed, Chandler would return and help however he could.

Chandler maintained a large circle of acquaintances and a close-knit group of friends who meant everything to him. Those who knew him best remember him as thoughtful, analytical, and deeply philosophical. He had the rare ability to engage in meaningful conversations about almost any topic while making others feel genuinely heard.

A devoted San Francisco 49ers fan, Chandler loved football, fast cars, video games, tasty cheeseburgers, spending time with his friends, and riding his motorcycle. He treasured the friendships he built throughout his life and enjoyed being with those closest to him.

Music played a significant role in Chandler’s life. From third grade through high school graduation, he played both the violin and trumpet. His musical tastes knew no boundaries. Whether listening to AC/DC, Bach, or anything in between, if a song made it onto Chandler’s playlist, chances are he knew every word.

Anyone fortunate enough to know Chandler also knew of his love for gadgets. He seemed to have a tool or gadget for every occasion.

If you spent even a few moments with Chandler, you were left with a lasting impression. It is no exaggeration to say that he was a friend to everyone, moving through life with genuine kindness, compassion, understanding, and an unwavering willingness to help others without hesitation. Known for his remarkable work ethic, steadfast loyalty, infectious laughter, bear hugs, and enormous heart, Chandler touched countless lives in ways both great and small. Although his time on earth was far too brief, his impact was immeasurable. In just 22 years, he created a legacy defined by love, friendship, generosity, and the ability to make others feel valued and cared for. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.

Even in death, Chandler's selflessness became one of his ultimate legacies. Through the gift of organ donation, his heart will continue to beat within another person, his retinas will restore the gift of sight, and his kidneys will sustain and improve the lives of others, offering hope, healing, and precious time to families he would never meet. In a world often in need of more compassion, Chandler's final act stands as a powerful reminder of how one life can profoundly change many. As we honor his memory, may we answer the call his life so beautifully exemplified: to love more deeply, give more freely, show kindness without condition, and leave every person we encounter better than we found them. If we can each carry forward even a small measure of the generosity, patience, loyalty, and genuine heart that defined Chandler, then his legacy will continue to live on, not only in those he saved, but in all of us who love him.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 3070 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion.
