Charmaine Elsie (Snyder) Waltemyer, of York, went to her eternal home on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the age of 89. She was the wife of Charles Edward Waltemyer who died on July 2, 2020.
Charmaine was born on July 20, 1935, in Craley to the late Herman Snyder and Treva (Reisinger) Burg and was also the stepdaughter of the late Phillip Burg. She built her career at Voith Hydro and, after retiring, pursued her entrepreneurial spirit along with Charles by owning the Kohr's Ice Cream located within the Galleria Mall. A devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, she also had a passion for the Sixers and loved cheering for Penn State. She and her husband, Charles, were regular attendees at Red Lion football and basketball games, sharing a love for supporting local sports. Charmaine was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Church of Red Lion.
She leaves her son, Michael C. Waltemyer and his wife Irene of York, and her daughter, Michelle C. Snyder and her husband James of Lake Havasu, AZ. She leaves her grandchildren, Lauren Welker of York, Corey Waltemyer and wife, Christine of York, and Justin Snyder and wife, Jen of Lake Havasu, AZ. She will be missed by her great-grandchildren, Deegan, Charlie, Brody, London, Lincoln, Luke, Irish, and her stepsister, Susan Burg and husband, Steve of York.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting with the arrangements.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Memorial White Rose Hospice for the care and compassion shown to their family and Charmaine over the last several months.
