Obituary

Christopher "Chris" Anthony Day, of Nacona, Texas, formerly of York, entered into rest on April 30, 2024 in York at the age of 58. He was the husband of Amina S. (Jamison) Hussein-Day.

Chris was born to Larry E. (Chic) Day and Dawn Marie Wright. He graduated from William Penn Senior High School, class of 1983. Chris was a very proud United States Army Veteran and was honorably discharged in 1991. One of Chris's greatest skills and abilities was to teach, especially when it came to one of his numerous talents – WELDING – which was his passion above all. He also shared countless stories of his time in the Army and deployment in Germany with anyone who would listen. Chris was a Master Journeyman welder who applied his trade all over the United States. Amina and Chris also were co-owners of 1 Day at a Time Trucking, LLC.

Besides his wife and his parents, he leaves his daughters: Chantel M. Day, Monica M. Day, Marissa L. Day, Erica L. Day and his son, Christopher R. Bowen. He will be missed by his four stepchildren, Andrew McKnight, Kyle McKnight, Kaleea McKnight and Umaimuh Mutawakil. He leaves three grandchildren and nine step grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by his brother, Lamont B. Day, and sister, Tyesse T. Dickson and husband, Cortez. He leaves his grandmother, Gladys M. Moore and his favorite Uncle Fletcher Day 2, along with his two nieces, and scores of cousins, family and friends.

A visitation for Chris will begin at 11:00 am at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military rites.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to an organization that was very special to Chris and where he volunteered much of his time teaching the local youth: APJ Foundation, 320 Richland Avenue, York, PA 17404.
