Clair S. Peters, of York, entered into rest on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation at 12:47 PM at the age of 79. Clair will be fondly remembered by his nicknames "Skip" or "Pete" to those closest to him. Born in York on October 14, 1942, Clair was the son of the late Howard G. and Ella E. (Hoffmaster) Peters. He was a graduate of York Catholic High School. Clair was a proud United States Marine Veteran serving from 1962 until 1966 and after his honorable discharge, a self-employed mechanic. Clair was a lifetime member of the Red Lion American Legion Post 543 and the Dallastown American Legion Post 605. He loved fishing and animals of all kinds. He leaves behind his daughter Macey Wilt (Jason) of Felton and son Tim Myers (Betsy) of Thomasville. He also leaves behind his several siblings, as well as his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter Valerie J. Myers who entered into rest on June 23, 2020 and his son Cliff Myers in 1984. A viewing for Clair will take place on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 5-6 PM at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise will begin at 6 PM with Rev. David D. Tietje of St. John's United Church of Christ officiating. Full Military Honors will be presented by the Dallastown Legion Honor Guard. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered in Clair's name to Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion to help offset the cost of the funeral expenses.
