David E. Folkenroth, of York, entered into rest on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home at 6:00AM at the age of 70. He was born in York on March 27, 1950 and was the son of the late Bernard P.and Ruth N. (Witmer) Folkenroth.
David was a self-employed contractor. He remodeled many houses and enjoyed building, and who was especially fond of collecting antiques. David was always a highly active man and living a healthy lifestyle was important to him. He enjoyed music, animals, flowers, and spending time with friends and family.
David leaves behind his stepdaughter, Alicia Lacey and her husband, Dustin, of Richlands,North Carolina, He was the grandfather to four step-grandchildren, Colbie and Brenley Lacey, and Alyssa and McKenzy Riddle, his sisters Kathy Smith and husband, Denny, of Dover, Nancy Folkenroth of Chicago, Joanne Folkenroth of York, and lifetime friend, Jean Blair, of Wrightsville. as well as his in-laws, the Blymire family. David also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his stepson, Dayne Riddle as well as two of his siblings,Linda Hepner and Steven (Sam) Folkenroth.
Cremation has taken place with Burg Funeral home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
