YORK De Etta V. (Hivner) Barnhart, 92, entered into rest at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Manor Care South. She was the wife of Kenneth D. Barnhart, who entered into rest in 2001. She was born in Windsor, on July 14, 1918, and was the daughter of the late Roy P. and Mary Irene (Wolfe) Hivner. Mrs. Barnhart was a cigar maker, working in various cigar companies in Red Lion. She was a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Red Lion, and was a former member of Rainbow Chapter #517 Order of the Eastern Star in Red Lion. Surviving are two sons, Lonnie L. Barnhart of Dallastown and wife, Carol, and Barry B. Barnhart of Hummelstown and wife, Sandra; five grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and brother-in-law, Woodrow Heffner of Felton. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A graveside service will be private and at the convenience of the family with her pastor, the Rev. David D. Tietje, officiating. Burial will be in Yoe Union Cemetery.
