WINDSOR Dean L. Kinard, 73, entered into rest unexpectedly at 10:47 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis (Hake) Kinard, who entered into rest on July 7, 2004. He was born in Martinsville, York County, on June 22, 1937, and was the son of the late Wilbert and Ruth (Beaverson) Kinard. Dean was the former owner and operator of the Hotel Haven in York Haven. He was a member of the Teamster's Local #776. Dean was also a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Windsor. Dean is survived by two sons, Tracy L. Kinard and wife, RoseAnn of York, and Richard S. Kinard of Windsor; one daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" M. Kinard Gilbert and husband, Randy, Sr. of Red Lion; two grandchildren, Candy M. Gilbert and Randy E. Gilbert, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Brooklyn, Jordan. Viewing will be Tuesday, April 5, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The service will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with his pastor, the Rev. Ersel D. Staples, officiating. Burial will be at Salem Community Cemetery. Dean was a wonderful father and grandfather. Spending quality time with his family was what he loved to do the most. He will be sadly missed.
