MARIENVILLE Donald D. "Don" Witmer, 65, formerly of Red Lion, entered into rest after a lengthy illness on Friday, January 28, 2011, at 3:15 a.m. at the Windsor House at Snyder Memorial Health Care Center. He was born in Springvale on July 8, 1945, the son of the late Lloyd and Mary R. (Eckert) Witmer. He worked in the mill room at the former Red Lion Table Company and attended Red Lion High School. Mr. Witmer is survived by six sisters, Nancy L. Shaw of Felton, Patsy A. Witmer of Red Lion, Jean M. Stokes of Red Lion, Darlene M. Belnap of Windham, Ohio, Christine L. Mellinger of Red Lion, and Kathryn Eckenrode of York; two brothers, Lloyd L. Witmer, Jr. of Red Lion and Preston E. Witmer of Wrightsville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Diane P. Witmer. There will be a viewing from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard B. Starr officiating.
