Donald W. Donley of York entered into rest suddenly on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at his home at the age of 68. He was the husband of Cynthia (Ellison) Donley of 26 years. Donald was born in Red Lion on January 4, 1942 and was the son of Charlotte (Herbst) Smith and the late Charles Elwood Donley He worked as a metal specialist at Caterpillar. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Mark Donley of Windsor and wife Shanan, and a daughter Lori Donley of Grasonville, MD; 2 grandchildren Joseph and Samantha Donley; 4 sisters Fairie Toomey, Luanne Grafton, Lynna Ross and Crystal Massimore; 3 brothers, Robert Smith, Dan Smith, and Ben Smith; many nieces and nephews. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A graveside service will be 2 .pm. Thursday, June 3 with military honors at Indiantown Gap Cemetery in Annville.
