Donald C. Smith, Jr., of Red Lion, peacefully accepted the extended hand of his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 26, 2022, from Promedica South, at 7 am, at the age of 74. He was the son of the late Donald C. Sr., and Phyllis (Seitz) Smith. He was born on December 28, 1947 in York. Donald was a graduate of Red Lion High School, Class of 1966. He was a brick maker for many years at Glen-Geri bricks in York before his retirement in 2014. Donald loved music and was the organist and pianist at both Emigsville United Methodist Church where he was a member and at Longstown United Methodist Church for many years, and he loved spending time with his family. He leaves his daughter, Lora J. Stough and her husband Kevin of Dallastown, two granddaughters, Alex Steel and her husband Shelby of Jacobus, and Kaitlyn Thomas and her husband Stephen of Dillsburg, a grandson, Troy Smith of Alabama. He was one of nine children, Denise Ness of York, Craig, Kenneth, Michael, and Keith Smith all of Red Lion. He has numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by a son, Troy Smith and his wife Candy Smith on December 20, 1993, his brother, Charles Smith and his two sisters, Karen Noll, and Joyce Shoff. Viewing will be on Monday, January 2nd, from 9-10 am at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Donald will begin at 10 am at the funeral home, with his pastor, Rev. Eddie D.D. Miller, of Emigsville UM Church, officiating.
