Donna L. (Sechrist) Lentz, 80, entered into rest after a lengthy struggle with cancer at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Acco-lades Inc. Personal Care Home in New Freedom. She was the longtime companion of Roland C. Sowers of York and the former wife of Kenneth Lentz. She was born in Red Lion, and was the daughter of the late Llewlyn and Edna E. (Blymire) Sechrist Oberlander. Donna was a credit manager at ACCO, retiring in 1986. She was a 1949 graduate of William Penn High School. Donna was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion, a life member of Viking Athletic Association, VFW of West York, and Ladies Auxiliary of the Dallastown American Legion Post #605. In addition to her companion of 35 years, she is survived by a daughter, Brenda D. Quinn of Westminster, Md., and her husband, William; three grandchildren, Bryan and wife, Kristen, and Rebecca, all of Westminster, Md., and Nicole of Honolulu, Hawaii; five great-grandchildren, Destin, Bryn, Alexandra, Regan, and Ciera; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. There will be a viewing from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. Stephany S. Sechrist, officiating. Burial will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 1st Ave., Red Lion, PA 17356; or Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604. Donna was a wonderful mother to Brenda and companion to Roland. She loved spending time in Ocean City and wintering in Florida. Fishing, crabbing, and playing slots were some of her favorite things to do. A warm thank you is sent to Nancy and Bill, her cousins who so graciously assisted with her care during her time of illness. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
