Donna M. (Thompson) Smeltzer, of Red Lion, went to her eternal home peacefully from Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the age of 84. She was the wife of the late Ronald Elwood Smeltzer who died on August 28, 2008.

Donna was born in Red Lion to the late James and Mae (Eisensmith) Thompson on September 28, 1940. Faith played a significant role in Donna's life from an early age. She was raised in the Grace Lutheran Church, where she actively participated in the church choir. She had a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed using her voice to contribute to the worship services. Her involvement in the church provided her with a strong spiritual foundation and a sense of belonging within her faith community. In her earlier years, Donna enjoyed bowling, a pastime that she eagerly pursued during her leisure time. As she grew older, Donna remained steadfast in her faith and became a devoted member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

She leaves her children, Todd Smeltzer and wife, Debra of Red Lion, David Smeltzer and wife, Anita of Windsor, and Debra Grove and husband, Joe of Brogue. She will be missed by her sister, Sharon Stine and husband, Bill of Dallastown, as well as her 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and her nephew, Corey Smeltzer of York.

Services and burial in Red Lion Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
