Doris Jean (Pittenger) Lippy, of Dallastown, went home to her Lord and Savior, unexpectedly, on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at her residence at 5:53 pm at the age of 76. She was the loving wife of Robert E. Lippy to whom she married on October 15, 1966, celebrating 52 years together. She was born in York on January 31, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Richard T. and Lucille L. (Reiker) Pittenger. Doris worked at a Secretary at Quality Tool & Engineering in York. After the birth of her daughter he became a homemaker, caring for her family. She was a life member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in York. She enjoyed golfing, camping, gardening but most of all, she enjoyed all the sports activities of her grandsons and never missed an event, cheering them on. Besides her husband, Robert, she leaves her daughter, Allison J. (Lippy) Christine of Red Lion and her two grandsons, Ross J. Christine and Reed W. Christine, both of Red Lion and a niece, Sharon L. Becker of York. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janet L. Becker. Viewing will be on Friday, February 1st from 10-11 am at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Doris will begin at 11 am at the funeral home with her pastor, Rev. Kevin T. Shivley, officiating. Burial will take place at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
