Dorothy M. (Tome) Smith of Dallastown, formerly of Red Lion, entered into rest after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Manor Care Dallastown at the age of 75. Dorothy was born in York on June 28, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Lester D. and Elsie M. (Markle) Tome. She graduated from Red Lion High School and worked at Coyne Textiles in York for many years, then later at Burger King. Dorothy loved to draw and enjoyed doing many crafts. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 West Broadway, Red Lion. A Graveside Service of Honor and Praise for Dorothy will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday , October 24th at Bethlehem Stonepile UM Church Cemetery with, Rev. Thomas R. Osenbach , pastor of Bethlehem Stonepile – Springvale United Methodist Charge officiating. Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Cheryl M. Smith and her companion, James B. Maddox of York; 4 grandchildren, Elishia – James A. Roach of York, Nikoles - Lee A. Smith of Dover, Koreasha M. Maddox of York, Kwame J. Maddox of York; 3 brothers, Robert E. Tome, Kenneth L. Tome, Sr., Dale M. Tome; 3 sisters, RuthAnn Boyd, Sandy Harris, and Shirley Seitz. She was preceded in death by a sister, Karen L. Tome.
