Strausbaugh YORK Dorothy I. (Spangler) Strausbaugh, 80, entered into eternal rest at 2:52 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012, after a brief illness at Manor Care South. She was the wife of George Kenneth Strausbaugh, who entered into eternal rest on February 15, 2007. She was born in Yoe, on May 26, 1931, the daughter of the late George A. and Alma (Fidler) Spangler. Dorothy worked in the Business Office of Red Lion School District for 17 years retiring in 1991. She was a longtime and faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Red Lion for 47 years and was a graduate of Dallastown High School, Class of 1949. She is survived by two daughters, Karen L. Hollenbaugh of York and her husband, Gary and Lisa M. Billet of York and her husband, Steve; a son, Regan R. Strausbaugh of Yoe; eight grandchildren, Joshua and Ashley McDonald, Tyler and Kaylin Strausbaugh, Erin and Bradley Billet, Leslie Mundis and Andrea Collins; seven great-grandchildren, Travis McCallister, Dawson and Lauren Collins, Madison Reisinger, Molly Bruce and MacKenzie and Natalie Mundis; one sister, Sara Billet of Red Lion; a very special friend, Edward Vernon of Manchester; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Samuel and Edward Spangler, and four sisters, Laura Spangler, Charlotte Linton, Myrtle Leiphart and Lucille Sharkey. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles St., Red Lion. A memorial service to celebrate Dorothy's Life will begin at 10 a.m. at the church, with her interim pastor, Rev. Dr. William H. Cluley, officiating Burial will be in Yoe Union Cemetery following the service. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to, Grace Lutheran Church c/o Food Pantry, 220 N. Charles St., Red Lion, PA 17356. Dorothy was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother who had the unlimited capacity for LOVE and ACCEPTANCE for everyone. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family extends their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Manor Care South for the outstanding care and compassion given to their Mother and to them during their time of illness.
