IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dwight N.
(Sr.) Sprenkle
September 30, 1944 – July 15, 2024
Dwight N. Sprenkle, Sr., of Red Lion, entered into rest at his home during the early morning hours of July 15, 2024 at the age of 79.
Born in Dallastown on September 30, 1944, Dwight was the son of the late Sherman Floyd and Ida (Kauffman) Sprenkle. He graduated from Dallastown High School, class of 1962 and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Upon his honorable discharge, Dwight worked as a welder for Kottcamp Sheet Metal, then as a pile driver for Maryland General Construction and Wagman until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time outside, sitting in the sun, feeding squirrels, and was a true dog lover. Dwight cherished time spent with his family, playing darts, and faithfully took weekly trips to Jerry's to purchase Powerball tickets. He loved to play 500 rummy. His skills and enthusiasm for the game brought many memorable moments and lively conversations around the card table that many enjoyed, especially with some of Dwight's humor as well.
He leaves his sons, Dwight "Bud" N. Sprenkle, Jr. and wife, Lori of Dallastown and Brendan J. Sprenkle and wife, Jill of Red Lion. He leaves his daughter, Jami E. Silar and husband, Bret of Wrightsville. He leaves his grandchildren, Tori G. Kerchner and husband, Dylan of Red Lion, Taylor A. Kluyber and husband, Patrick of Brogue, Emmit N. Silar and wife, Cassidy of York, Emma K. Stoner and husband, Zach of Airville, and Colin J. Conrad of Red Lion. He leaves his five great-grandchildren. He was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his sixth great-grandchild. Dwight leaves his brother, Keith L. Sprenkle and wife, Sue of Dallastown. He was preceded in death by his brother, Sherman F. Sprenkle, Jr., his sisters, Anita Sprenkle, Karen Sprenkle, and his infant twin sister, Alta Mae Sprenkle.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice and Community Care for the exceptional care they provided to Dwight over the last month and for the compassion shown to their family during this time.
