On Friday, February 19, 2021, Earnest Edward Heyne, Sr., passed away at Manor Care Dallastown at the age of 97. He was born on September 10, 1923 in Red Lion, PA to the late Paul E. Sr. and Mazie E. (Bisker) Heyne. Earnest retired from the American Insulator in New Freedom after working there for 30+ years. He was the husband of the late Freda R. (Saylor) Heyne. He had a passion for music, loved playing the violin and guitar. He had the unique talent of playing by ear. He loved singing "You are my sunshine", "I'll Fly Away", and "I Saw the Light". He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Earnest was preceded in death by a son, Stephen A. Heyne and a brother, Rayburn A Heyne. He was also preceded in death by five other siblings. He is survived by a son, Earnest E. Heyne, Jr. of Shrewsbury, two daughters, Theresa A. Beck of York and her companion, Anthony Paolino, and Margaret R. Gibbs of Windsor and her husband Paul, and a sister, Virginia H. Gembe of Dallastown. He also is survived by a granddaughter, Mazie E. Beck of York. Viewing will be on Friday, February 26th from 10-11 AM at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Larry A. Parlett, Bethany United Methodist Church of Red Lion, officiating. Burial will follow the service at Cross Roads UM Church cemetery.
