On Sunday, October 4, 2026, Earnest Edward Heyne, Jr., passed away at the York Hospital at the age of 72. He was born on August 22, 1954 in York, PA to the late Earnest E. Sr. and Freda R. (Saylor) Heyne.
He was a long-term resident of 14 years with Penn-Mar Human Services. His last residing location was on Winterstown Road in Red Lion, PA. He loved traveling to local events, especially carnivals, fairs, the beach, and Knoebels. He also had a deep love for attending church, visiting various congregations throughout his life and deeply cherishing the fellowship of fellow believers. Quite the social butterfly, he possessed the rare and beautiful talent of remembering everyone’s birthday. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his infectious smile, his compassionate spirit, and his genuine love of adventure. Earnest was preceded in death by his father, and mother. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Stephen A. Heyne. He is survived by two sisters, Theresa A. Beck of York and her husband Anthony Paolino, and Margaret R. Gibbs of Windsor and her husband Paul. He also is survived by a niece, Mazie E. Beck of York.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 9th from 10-11 AM at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 3070 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, PA. A Service of Honor and Praise will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Larry A. Parlett officiating. Burial will follow the service at Cross Roads United Methodist Church cemetery.
