Edward E.
Inkrote
December 27, 1962 – May 20, 2026
Edward E. Inkrote, 63, of Fawn Grove, entered into rest at his home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, while doing one of his favorite things — working outside in the yard. He was the companion of Hester E. (Beale) Troyer for 15 years.
Ed was born in York on December 27, 1962, to Sandra (Ward) Bones of York and the late Gerald E. Inkrote. He was raised by his late grandmother, Pauline Inkrote. He worked for Bimbo Bakeries for more than 20 years, driving a bread route that he truly enjoyed. Anyone who knew Ed knew he was a hard worker. Five years ago, he and Hester opened Country Home Décor in Shrewsbury together.
Ed was well known by many and could talk to just about anyone. He especially enjoyed conversations with the older generation and liked hearing their stories. He loved being outside working in the yard and was a dedicated Steelers fan. He also enjoyed following the Penguins and Pirates. Ed’s presence could be felt in a room before he was even seen.
He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Inkrote, and Hester’s daughters, Jessica Troyer and Ashley Rineer, who he loved as his own. Ed will also be deeply missed by his beloved “grandchildren,” his siblings, Lisa Inkrote, Cathy Cerqueda, Patricia Stuckey, Debbie Spellman, Virginia Jordan, Charles Inkrote, Faye Johnson, Mary Inkrote, and Melissa Perry, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A viewing for Ed will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 3070 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, PA 17356. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Red Lion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, Attention: Donor Relations, 375 Kings Highway North, Suite B, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
