Obituary

Edwin Curvin Brown, 97, of Shrewsbury, died Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at his home. He was the husband of Joyce A. (McCoy) Brown for 68 years.

Born in Red Lion on September 9, 1927, he was the eldest son of the late Curvin A. and Margaret E. (Watkins) Brown. He was a 1945 graduate of Red Lion High School and left for the United States Navy immediately thereafter. A duty to family called him back home in 1946. He then began working at the Red Lion Sewing Factory, where he met his wife, and later at the former Edgcomb Metals Company, now Kloeckner, from which he retired after 32 years. In his later years, he could always be found in his chair, watching TV and cheering on the Yankees, with a puzzle book in hand. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Todd A. Brown (Denise) of York; his daughter, Lisa G. Sweitzer of Shrewsbury; and his daughter, Julie A. Day (Jim) of Glen Rock; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin sisters, Dianne R. Jordan of York and Yvonne F. Drexler of Southampton, as well as a niece and three nephews. He was predeceased by his only brother, Donald A. Brown on April 18, 2007, and his son-in-law, Edward Sweitzer on November 12, 2021.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A graveside service will take place at a later date in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family.
