YORK Elizabeth Z. (Zeigler) Keperling, 86, entered into rest after a lengthy illness at 4 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Normandie Ridge. She was the wife of Rev. Ira C. Keperling whom she married on September 9, 1944, celebrating 66 years of marriage. Born in Boonesboro, Md., on November 27, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Roy R. and Cora (Emenheiser) Zeigler. She was an LPN graduate of Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Md., where she worked on their nursing staff following graduation. Elizabeth graduated from Duncannon High School. She was a member at Messiah United Methodist Church in York for the last 15 years. In addition to her husband, Ira, she is survived by three sons, David L. Keperling and wife, Kathy of Spring Grove, Paul L. Keperling and wife, Kathleen of Narberth, and Robert E. Keperling and wife, Jane of Lavonia, Ga.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, one of whom was her twin, and a sister. There will be no viewing. Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences on Monday, January 31, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with her pastors, the Rev. W. Michael Langford, assisted by the Rev. Owen Walter, and Chaplain Haydn J. McLean of Normandie Ridge, officiating. Burial will be in Winterstown U.B. Cemetery In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Messiah United Methodist Church, 1300 N.
