Obituary

Elizabeth Jane Reinecke was born the oldest daughter of Pauline Elizabeth Trout Reinecke and John Adam Albert Reinecke on November 18, 1928 in Woodbine, York County, PA. She joined McKendree Methodist Church in 1940. She married Dale Verren Dinsmore of Brogue, PA on December 18, 1948 in McKendree Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. George H. Johnston and the Rev. N. Lee Scott officiating. Elizabeth became a member of New Harmony Presbyterian Church in April 1957. In the mid-1960's, she accepted her position of choir manager, a position she held with great joy and faithfulness. She later began to work with a few youth singers to build a large Youth Choir, often picking up members from their homes and transporting them to the church for the 8:30 AM Sunday morning rehearsals. In 1978, Elizabeth was ordained as a deacon – a position she viewed as the best in New Harmony Church. In addition to performing the various important duties of that position, she felt the need to begin serving funeral luncheons to any church member who desired that service. She felt called to serve the bereaved in their hour of need and deemed it a privilege to be able to help them in that way. "Libby" Dinsmore looked upon the position of deacon as the most rewarding church office that she could ever have. She often said, "Once a deacon, always a deacon." Within the Presbyterian Women's group at New Harmony, she served in various capacities – as circle leader, pianist, sewing secretary, and as a member of the search committee. She often transported sewing articles and supplies to local agencies in need. Elizabeth was active in the church's Vacation Bible School program, serving as Bible School director, teacher, and song leader. In addition, she created large puppets to be worn for VBS programs at New Harmony and Centre Presbyterian Church. In November 1973, her fellow church members made Elizabeth an honorary member of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A.'s Program Agency for her commitment to Christ and the mission and ministry of the Presbyterian Church. In Donegal Presbytery, she served on the Small Church Committee which attempted to develop ways in which smaller churches could effectively communicate with and become servants of the Church as a whole. In the Presbytery's Women's Group, she served as Coordinator for Mission Interpretation, working to develop mission outreach opportunities. She also served on the Nurture and Support Committee for two terms of 3 years each. Within her community, she was a volunteer for the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society, serving in the local Collinsville area. She was an officer in the Chanceford Elementary School Parent Teacher Association and helped to sew school projects to beautify the hallways. In her earlier years, Libby contributed vocal selections at schools and churches throughout the area. She viewed this talent as her gift from God and she shared it freely with God and His people. Not only was Libby a daughter and sister, cousin and friend, but she will be remembered as a loving, faithful and devoted wife to Dale, her husband of 34 years; a mother to Dale Jr, Alan, Cris, and Phil; a grandmother to Eric, Quinn, Brian, Erinn, Ryan, Scott, Justin, Colin, and Julianne (all of whom are pallbearers for her burial in New Harmony Cemetery); and a great grandmother to thirteen wonderful and beautiful children. It was requested by Libby that there will be no public viewing. A Memorial Service to Honor and Praise Elizabeth's life will be on Saturday, September 25 at 11 AM at New Harmony Presbyterian Church, 2295 Delta Road, Brogue, PA 17309.
