Elmer L. Ward, of Airville, died at his home on May 7, 2025, at the age of 63.

Born in York on March 5, 1962, Elmer was the beloved son of the late Marvin L. Vanhart and the late Sarah Anna Ward. A hardworking and resourceful man, Elmer was self-employed as a handyman, a role in which he took great pride. He had a deep appreciation for nature and found joy in spending his time outdoors.

Elmer is survived by his son, Harley J. Ward, and wife, Chynna, of Manchester. He also leaves behind his stepchildren: James Poland and his wife, Candy, of Brogue, and Julie Poland, of Felton. Elmer was a grandfather to Maximus Ward and Ronin Ward, both of Manchester, In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Angie Overmiller and Rebecca Fender, and his brother, Marcos Torres.

Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., at 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
