Ervin L. Eckert of Windsor, entered into rest after a brief illness on Fri., May 14th, @ 11:55 pm @ his residence at the age of 99.
Spouse: he was the husband of Alice J. (Jones) Eckert to whom he married on Nov. 26, 1969, celebrating 40 years together.
Born, When, Where, Parents: he was born in Windsor on December 16, 1910 and was the son of the late Franklin and Bertha (McCoy) Eckert.
Work, Memberships, Background: Ervin was the owner and operator of Eckert Trucking for 49 years. He also drove trucks and continued to work at the company up to the age of 93.; he was a life member of the Windsor Fire Company.
Besides his wife he is also survived by 2 Sons- Ervin F. Eckert of York and wife Charlotte, Galen D. Eckert of Red Lion and wife Leona; 2 daughters- Virginia V. Saylor and Charmaine Eckert both of York; 6 step children- Howard Fuhrman of Felton, Dale Files , Wade Files both of Bedford, Pamela Files of Red Lion, Dennis Files of York, and Kelly Bucket of FL; 17 grandchildren, 7 Step Grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; 1 brother- Clyde Eckert of Windsor; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 sons- Kenneth E. Eckert, Steve Eckert and a daughter- Betty Donnley and a step daughter- Linda Fuhrman, and 3 brothers- Wilbur, Ralph and Spurgeon.
Rev. Steven A. Schmuck, pastor of Red Lion Bible Church will officiate.
Burial will be private in the Windsor Cemetery.
