Everett G. George of Dover accepted the hand of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 1:43 pm at his residence with family by his side at the age of 79. He was the husband of Sharon K. (Young) George of Dover to whom he married on May 10, 2014, and the late Lois J. (Sproull) George who entered eternal rest on November 8, 2009.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 16, 1942, and was the son of the late James Curtis and Ella F. (Huhn) George. Everett was a machine operator at the former York International for 30 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the York Community Access Television and was a big part of the York Revolutions Baseball. Besides being a big fan, he was the manager of the visiting Team Club House for many years. Everett did video work at the ballpark including "Rev's Rap Up". He was known as the cubby to many visiting teams and is fondly remembered as a great man.
Everett leaves his wife Sharon and a daughter, Melissa L. Abel of York, a brother, Kenneth George and Annie of Ohio, and a sister, June Scarpino of Carbon, PA., He also has a niece, Debbie Zink of Pittsburgh and a nephew, James George of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Abel on December 23, 2021, and his sister, Eunice Miller.
Viewing for Everett will be on Wednesday, from 10-11 am at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Everett will begin at 11 am at the funeral home, with Rev. Dale E. Parker, pastor of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in York officiating. Burial will take place at Restland Memorial Park in Alleghany County at the convenience of the family.
