Frank J. Pilkerton, of York, went to his eternal home with his heavenly Father on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 8:20PM at Manor Care Kingston Court at the age of 84. He was the husband of the late Shirley E. (Arndt) Pilkerton who passed on September 9, 2015. Frank was born in Baltimore on September 28, 1936 and was the son of the late Louis and Renna (Billmire) Pilkerton. Frank was a member of the Victory Athletic Association, the Hawks Gunning Club and had a passion for golf, traveling to Myrtle Beach every Spring to play. He enjoyed barbecuing and loved to entertain. He was known for his "Pilky's Special", which usually was a dish prepared with ingredients unknown to those trying it. He leaves behind his sons, Frank J. Pilkerton, Jr. and William M. Pilkerton, Sr., and wife, Joanne, both of Maryland, as well as his stepdaughter, Michele R. Barshinger and husband, Rick, of Dover, Beverly J. Fillmore and husband, Larry, of York and Karen J. McMaster and husband, William, of York. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Max A. Costa, William M. Pilkerton, Jr., Colin J. Pilkerton, Holly M. Pilkerton and Joshua A. Edwards, six step grandchildren: Stephen Kuhn, Nicole Mann, Matthew Fillmore, Kari Rosaci, Jennifer Smith and Kayla Benedict, and nine step great grandchildren: Aaron Mann, Adrian Mann, Emmitt Greiner, Zachary Kuhn, Zoie Kuhn, Marco Rosaci, Luca Rosaci, Michael Giove, and Aubree Benedict, as well as his brother, Russell Pilkerton of Baltimore. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marlita Costa and numerous siblings. A viewing will take place at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, on Monday, June 14th, from 10-11 am. A service of Honor and Praise for Frank will begin at 11am with Father Mark A. Wiess, officiating. Burial will take place at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens following the service.
