Fred W. Messerly, formerly of Red Lion, entered into rest at Winkler Court in Fort Myers, Florida on Monday, October 16, 2023 at the age of 85. He was the husband of the late Patricia "Pat" A. Messerly who died on February 23, 2021.

Fred was born on September 14, 1938 to the late William and Hazel (Kottcamp) Messerly. Fred and Pat spent their time traveling, covering much of the South Pacific and Caribbean, socializing with their friends and were actively involved members of Springvale United Methodist Church. Fred was a remarkable individual who was known for his love of music, especially his ukulele. Fred and Pat owned Susquehanna Canoe Shoppe in Red Lion and both were members of the Conewago Canoe Club.

Fred leaves his son, Brian Messerly of Fort Myers, Fl. He also leaves his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his twin sons, Randy and Ward.

Fred, along with Pat, made a commitment many years ago and selflessly chose to contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge by donating their bodies to science.
