Gladys M. (Reisinger) Ferree, 87, entered into eternal rest after a lengthy illness at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Manor Care Dallastown. She was the wife of John H. Ferree, who entered into rest in December 1992. She was born in York, on July 8, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Paul R. and Fern C. (Hivner) Reisinger. Gladys was a Health Care Assistant at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home, and a member of New Beginnings Bible Fellowship. She attended the Thompson Business School. Surviving are sons, Marc W. Ferree of Red Lion, and Carey P. Ferree and wife, Bobbi of York; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ned Reisinger. There will be a viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, June 23, at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Gladys will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David D. Tietje, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ in Red Lion, officiating. Burial will be at Craley (St. Paul's U.M.) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to York Cancer Center/Cancer Patient Help Fund, York Health Foundation, 50 N. Duke St., 2nd Floor, York, PA 17401. Gladys was a good Mother and Grandmother who doted over her grandchildren. Her family always came first and she loved spending time with them.
