Harold Charles "Pap" Shoff of Wrightsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Rest Haven-York, at the age of 86, after struggling with Heart Disease, COPD, Kidney Disease, Cancer and COVID-19. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary E. (Keller) Shoff.
He was born in Red Lion, on January 27, 1934 and was the son of the late Allen N. and Thelma A. (Snyder) Shoff. Pap was a machinist, working for Campbell Chain/Cooper Tool for 27 years, prior to his retirement in 1999 at the age of 65, and Monarch Products for 23 years. He also owned a 48-acre farm with his wife Mary, which they worked very hard. Besides farming, he liked cutting wood, hunting, playing bingo, UNO and other card games with family and friends during activity time at Rest Haven. But most of all, he loved being with his family.
Pap and Mary have three daughters, Phyllis A. Brown and her husband Donald of Wrightsville, Carolyn E. Rojko and husband Frank of New Springfield, OH and Donna J. Kossman and husband D. Gregg of Red Lion and a son, Bradley D. Shoff, Sr. of Dallastown. He was the loving grandfather to eight grandchildren, Diana Thoman of Wrightsville, Randy Brown (Tammy) of Seven Valleys, Wendy Eyler of York, Bradley Shoff, Jr. of Lancaster, Jason Shoff of Lancaster, Andrew Shellenberger (Kim Bornstein) of Ellington, Conn, Leah Shellenberger of Falls Church, VA and Crystal Kossman of Red Lion and the great grandfather to twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Richard Shoff, Melvin Shoff and his sister, Rosemary (Shoff) Harlacker and his border collie, Molly.
Viewing will be on Monday, December 14th from 10-11 am at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Pap will begin at 11 am with Rev. David D. Tietje, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Canadochly Cemetery.
It is requested that those attending the service MUST WEAR A FACE MASK and be aware of social distancing while inside the facilities. Also, with the limited restrictions, please keep your visit with the family to a minimum to accommodate others who would like to extend their condolences as well.
