Obituary

Harriet was born on January 14, 1941 in Mt. Carmel PA to the late Albert “Jake” and the late Martha (Lipinski) Vincenzes. She was incredibly proud of her hometown in the coal region of Pennsylvania.

She began her education in the local Catholic schools and developed a lifelong appreciation for the nuns who taught her. She later transferred to public school and graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1959.

In October of 1962, Harriet married the love of her life, Stanley Hynoski. They shared nearly 59 years of marriage before Stan’s passing in 2021. Together they raised three children: Denise Mauzy (Gary), Natalie Hynoski (Roy) and Steven Hynoski (Wendy). Harriet was a devoted grandmother to Tyler, Ashley, Allie, Sophie and Katie and step grandchildren Dustin and Chandler. She is also survived by her sister; Judy Vincenzes, her sister in law; Gloria Howard, and her brother in Law; Bart Nave. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Eileen Nave and her brother Albert “Red” Vincenzes.

Harriet also treasured her community of Red Lion where she was fondly known as “The lady who walks really fast.” Her daily walks brought her great joy and kept her connected to the neighborhood she loved. Along the way, she made countless friends, both two legged and four legged as she always had dog biscuits in her pocket for the neighborhood dogs.

Harriet worked at Midway SuperThrift where she made many lifelong friends. She gave every task her full effort and took pride in doing her best. She also enjoyed trying her luck with the lottery and found pleasure in the simple excitement of hoping for a lucky ticket.

Even after being diagnosed with dementia, Harriet’s youthful spirit, kind heart, and infectious smile never faded. She recognized the good in everyone she met and continued to brighten the lives of those around her. Her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends will forever cherish the stories, laughter, and memories they shared with her.

Harriet will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her. She is walking in heaven now- and really fast!

A private Mass for family will precede burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. We will share details for a memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Red Lion Ambulance Association.
