Obituary

Helen M. (Olewiler) Enfield Olewiler, 93, entered into rest at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013, at her residence, with Jeanne, her granddaughter and caretaker, by her side. She was the wife of Paul R. Enfield, who entered into rest February 1951, and Leroy E. Olewiler, who entered into rest on January 30, 2002. She was born in York County, on December 13, 1920, and was the daughter of the late William M. and Edna (Smeltzer) Olewiler. Helen was a cigar maker and also worked in a woodworking factory, retiring in 1982. She was a former member of Red Lion Bible Church. Surviving are her children, Lester M. Enfield of York, Kathryn E. Martin and husband, Harlan of Ephrata, Judith A. Whitekettle and husband, Richard of Stevens, and Philip J. Enfield, Sr. and companion, Lynn Mundy of Felton; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Elwood "Dick" Olewiler and wife, Romaine, and a sister, Norma Graham and husband, Richard, all of Windsor; and several nieces and nephews. She was prceded in death by a daughter, Patti J. White; two sons, Galen R. Enfield and John R. Enfield; three brothers; and two sisters. There will be a viewing on Sunday, December 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday, December 23, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Helen will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Arthur T. Karick, pastor of Reamstown Church of God in Stevens, officiating. Burial will be at Salem Community Cemetery near Martinsville. Contributions may be offered to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th St., NW Washington, DC 20006.
