Helen Jane (Sliver) Johnson, of Ottumwa, Iowa, entered into rest at her daughter's home on January 31, 2024 at the age of 75.

She was born in West Virginia on May 13, 1944 to the late Robert Sliver and Mary Margaret (Sliver) Long. Helen worked at Whiteford Packing as a sorter. She enjoyed painting, working in her garden, planting flowers and spending time outside. On Saturday nights, she could be found watching Mollie B's Polka Party.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Christine M. Weeks and husband, Russell of Ottumwa, IA., her sons, Roy Bowling (Toni) of Baltimore, MD, William Bowling (Sara) of Stewartstown, Conley Bowling (Wendy) of York and James Bowling of York. She also leaves her grandsons, William Taylor (Shaina) of Ottumwa, IA, Gaige Schwochow of Clarinda, IA, James Bowling of York, and Colton Bowling of Aberdeen, MD. She will be missed by her ganddaughters, Samantha Bowling of Airville, Jessica Bowling (Charles) of Jarrettsville, MD, Erica Bowling of Airville, and Courtney Bowling of Biglersville. She leaves her great-gandchildren as well as her sister, Shirley Cochran of Whiteford, MD, and her brothers, Donald Sliver of Airville and Robert Sliver of Airville.

Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the funeral home to help defray the costs of the funeral expenses and assist them during this time.
