BROGUE
Isabella H. (Wilson) Phillips, formerly of Brogue, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m. at Colonial Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 91. She was the wife of Russell J. Phillips who entered into rest on December 6, 1992. Isabella was born in Gatchelville on November 21, 1922, and was the daughter of the late John H. Gibson and Rosa Jane Wilson. Isabella did housekeeping for many years. She was a longtime member of Fawn AME Zion Church where she was the Pianist for more than 80 years, superintendent of the Sunday School for 25+ years, a layman for 10+ years, director of the choir and life member of the Council. She was a social member of the Red Lion VFW and Secretary of the State Board for 28 years. Surviving are nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her foster son, Howard Hall; and her sisters and brothers. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Isabella will begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wrightsville Mt. Pisgah Cemetery on Friday at 10 a.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Her pastor, the Rev. Samuel B. Means will officiate.

Isabella was a wonderful lady who lived her life for her Lord and Savior. She was very active in her community and always put others' needs first. She will be sadly missed by many.
