James "Jim" V. Herbst, of East Berlin, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 13, 2017 at his residence at the age of 54. He was the husband of Lori A. (Klinedinst) Herbst of East Berlin whom he married on February 23, 2001, celebrating 16yrs together. Jim was born on November 28, 1962 and is the son of Vernon J. and Miriam E. (Barrett) Herbst of Delta. He attended Penn State University where he graduated and studied Mechanical and Structural Engineering. He worked for John Deere in agricultural management for 35years and enjoyed everyday of it. He will be deeply missed by his wife, family and friends. Besides his parents and wife; he leaves a daughter – Jessica Shumaker and husband, Tom of York; a brother- John Herbst of Delta; mother and father in laws – Llewellyn and Betty Klinedinst of Mt. Wolf; a sister in law – Peggy and husband, Jay of Harrisburg; a brother in law – Lew Klinedinst of York; cousins and lots of friends. There will be no viewing; Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences on Saturday, March 25th from 2-5pm at East Berlin Community Center; 405 North Ave., East Berlin, PA. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, condolences may be offered to a charity of your choice in memory of Jim.
