Janet M. (Ruby) Kinard, 93, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Fairmount Homes Retirement Community after a brief illness. She was the wife of the Luther Z. Kinard whom entered into rest on February 13, 2001. Janet was born in Lower Windsor Township on July 22, 1921 and was the daughter of the late George C. and Maggie E. (Dellinger) Ruby. Janet worked in various sewing factories, retiring in 1982 from the former Doe Spun in York. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Freysville and attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Brownstown. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Blanche E. Trout and husband, Roger of Ephrata; a grandson, Brad E. Trout and wife, Dara of Glenmore; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers. There will be a viewing on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Janet will begin on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Leonard Calhoun, pastor of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Springville Cemetery. Janet loved to sew and bake pies. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
