Jeffrey J. Edwards, beloved husband and father died on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Memorial Hospital at the age of 57. He was the husband of Kathryn A. (Geller) Edwards whom he married on September 22, 1984, celebrating 32 years of marriage. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 13, 1958. Jeffrey was the son of Commander Joe Duke (USN, Ret) and his wife Dorothy. With his family he traveled the world experiencing life in other countries which greatly influenced his desire to reach out to others. He attended Thomas A. Edison High School in VA. In 1988 he founded Home Harvest Garden Supply in partnership with a friend. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to design and create a website for the business which evolved into his life's work. His immense passion for alternative gardening and hydroponics made him a figurehead in the industry and therefore was sought out by many from all around the world for his knowledge and experience. Over the years he'd maintained his friendships while continuously cultivating new ones. His favorite pastime was spending time with friends and family over a good meal with great conversation. In addition to his wife Kathryn, he is survived by his daughter Jessica and her significant other David Etter; son, Erik; brother, Gregory and his wife Margaret; their children Martin and Rebecca; brother in-law Peter R. Geller; great uncle Gary Edwards; and extended family. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends may extend their condolences on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the visitation from 2-3 pm, and the memorial service to honor Jeffrey will take place from 3-4 pm at the funeral home.
