Obituary

Jerry Paul Farrell, age 86, of York, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Born in Charleston, MO, on March 4, 1939, he was the son of the late Paul and Marie (Eckenrode) Farrell. He was the devoted husband of 67 years to Virginia "Ginny" Kay (Mitchell) Farrell, with whom he shared a long and fulfilling life.

A 1957 graduate of William Penn High School, Jerry served in the U.S. Army before establishing his career in the York area. He worked as a supervisor for several furniture companies, later transitioning to a role as a FedEx driver. After retiring, he remained active working at Home Depot on East Market Street.

Jerry was a member of Chapel Church in Red Lion. He enjoyed time with his family in Ocean City, MD, and later spent winters in Punta Gorda, FL. An avid fisherman and dedicated sports fan, he especially enjoyed following the Penn State Nittany Lions.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Paul Farrell; his granddaughter, Erin Farrell; his sister, Janet Sowers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Chapel Church, 3050 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, with Pastor Josh Wargo officiating. Interment will follow at Heiland View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
