Joan Leslie (Cullen) Nelson, of York, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 2 pm at her residence, where she resided with her daughter, at the age of 76. She was the wife of the late Thomas M. Nelson who passed away on August 31, 2001. She was born on March 10, 1945, in Baltimore Maryland, the daughter of the late Warren and Miriam Cullen. Joan was employed by the Westinghouse Electric corporation in Hunt Valley Maryland until she retired. A very private person, she enjoyed spending time with her family, dining out, antique shopping and long rides in the country. Joan leaves behind her daughter, Robin A. Deere of York, a son, Michael D. Warner and his wife Atumn of Cherry Hill, NJ. She was the loving grandmother to five grandchildren, Justin M. Warner of Austin Texas, Lauren E. Warner, Mina I Deere, Lilly R. Deere ad Philip Deere IV all of York, PA and Ambriel Waudby of Belair, MD. she also leaves her sisters, Corrine James of Baldwin Maryland, Sharon Pritchard, a niece, Amanda Cather and a great niece, Layla Cather all of Perry Hall, MD. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the immediate family.
