Joey J. Snyder, of Red Lion, died peacefully at WellSpan York Hospital on Friday, October 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with a prolonged illness. He was 62 years old.
Born in York on April 30, 1962, he was the son of Carol Elaine (Scott) Snyder of Red Lion and the late Edwin Harry Snyder. A graduate of Dallastown High School, class of 1980, Joey pursued a career with David Edward, where he traveled extensively, repairing furniture and adding his unique touch. He was an active member of the Red Lion Legion Post 543 and the Red Lion Elks.
Joey is survived by his daughter, Alexis N. Snyder of Red Lion, his brothers, Robert E. Snyder and wife Jennifer of Red Lion, Edwin H. Snyder Jr. and wife Monique of Bellevue, Nebraska, Michael W. Snyder of Windsor, and Randall S. Snyder and companion, Angie of Lower Windsor; and his sister, Sandra L. Gibson and husband Mark of Red Lion. He also leaves behind numerous family members who will miss him dearly.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Joey's memory to Hospice and Community Care, Development Office, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601.
