John "Boots" Robert Huffaker of Brogue and formerly of Gettysburg, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at York Hospital at the age of 77.
He is the husband of Linda S. (Wilson) of York whom he married on November 15, 1975.
John was born in Gettysburg, on February 9, 1939.
He graduated from Gettysburg High School and worked at various trucking companies, retiring from Consolidated Freights, Emigsville, after many years of service.
John was a proud donator and member of Smithsonian Institution; National associate member of NRA- ILA, NRA (National Rifle Association Stand & Fight); Sierra Club; National Wildlife Federation; life member of North American Fishing Club; member of the American Legion, Post 0945; a lifetime member of the Red Lion VFW and was a United States National Guard Veteran.
His hobbies included a love for drawing and leathermaking.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children; Nolan Huffaker of Gettysburg, Robert Huffaker of Windsor, Wendy White of Lindenwold, NJ, Leilani (Huffaker) Ewell of Port Royal, Teresa ( Huffaker) Haugh of Brogue, Danielle ( Huffaker) Henry of Dillsburg ; 13 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
