John "Jack" A. Myers, age 95, of York, PA, formerly of Brush Valley, Indiana County, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Born in Graceton, Indiana County, PA, on October 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Earl and Stella (Edwards) Myers. He was the devoted husband of Christine (Geppert) Myers, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage after they were united on June 12, 1965, in Oakmont, PA.
Jack was a 1949 graduate of Johnstown High School. He spent most of his life farming in Brush Valley, where he raised sheep and cattle, cultivated vegetables and fruit trees, and later grew Christmas trees. He was also a loyal employee of Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown before retiring in 1992 and moving to the Ebensburg area. In later years, he relocated to York to be closer to his children.
Jack found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, farming, and tending his garden. Sundays were often spent with close friends at a local hunting camp on a nearby farm, where he looked forward to sharing hunting and fishing stories, laughter, and enduring friendship. He also treasured fishing and camping trips to Canada, creating countless cherished memories with family and friends along the way.
A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Jack enjoyed settling in to watch football whenever the Steelers were playing, though he appreciated the game no matter who was on the field. He was rarely seen without one of his trademark plaid shirts and was known as a humble, steady presence who quietly supported those he loved. His gentle nature, strong work ethic, and unwavering devotion to his family will be remembered always.
In addition to his beloved wife, Christine, Jack is survived by his children, Beth Myers Berezansky and her husband, Richard; Lisa Myers Crnovic and her husband, Michael; and Jeffrey J. Myers and his wife, Stacy. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Matthew Berezansky, Elisabeth "Ellie" Crnovic, John "Jack" Myers, Leah Crnovic, Benjamin Myers, Grace Myers, Samuel Myers, and Emma Myers, all of whom brought him tremendous pride and immeasurable joy.
A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 3070 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, PA, with Pastor Mark Geppert officiating. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
A second visitation and interment service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, in the Chapel at Greenwood Cemetery, 901 Hospital Road, Indiana, PA. Friends and family in the Indiana area are invited to attend the visitation from 12 to 1 p.m., with the service immediately following.
