Joyce E. (Smeltzer) Taylor Ilgenfritz, of Red Lion, entered into rest on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at her daughter's residence, with whom she resided, at 7:34 am at the age of 78. She was the wife of the late Carroll E. Taylor who entered into rest on March 8, 2004 and the late Scott Ilgenfritz. She was born in Bittersville on July 28, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Orah Matilda (Snell) Smeltzer. She was a machine operator at the former Campbell Chain from where she retired after 35 years of service. Joyce enjoyed shopping, gardening, baking and cooking. She loved her cats, cruising, and spending time with her family. She was also a life member of Kreutz Creek Valley VFW Post #7045 in Hellam. Joyce has three children, Clarissa E. Sullivan (Edwin) of Dover, Colleen M. Raffensberger (Jason) of Red Lion and Michael R. Taylor (Debra) of Wrightsville and her stepson, Brian Ilgenfritz. She was the loving grandmother of Sasha Forbes, Justin Taylor, Jesse Taylor, Caden and Leah Raffensberger and great grandmother of Maya Forbes, Mickayla Taylor and Justin Taylor, Jr. Joyce also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers James and Paul Smeltzer and her sisters Bertha Silar, Lillian Anderson and Miriam Mitzel. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences on Wednesday, September 8th from 6-7 pm at the funeral home. A Memorial Service to Honor and Praise for Joyce will begin at 7 pm with Pastor Lanny D. Kilgore officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Mount Rose Cemetery.
