Obituary

June "Juner" E. (Snyder) Dettinger, of Yorkana, entered into rest at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the age of 92. She was the wife of the late Paul "Barney" M. Dettinger who died on May 23, 2022.

June was born in Pleasureville on May 21, 1931 to the late Clarence Walter and Florance Alverta (Bailey) Snyder. After graduating from William Penn High School, she dedicated 40 years of service to Johnson Controls in the accounting department. Known for her witty and quirky sayings such as "hokie hun", "glory days", and "wowie", June will especially be missed for her "forevermore", which was a common response to just about any situation. She and Paul enjoyed spending time on their boat, Lazy D's, traveling up & down the East Coast and spending time at the Sue Haven Yacht Club in Essex, MD. They spent much of their time snowmobiling in Canada and making memories with their friends. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley Weaver, her nephew, Donald Neff, and nieces, Victoria Curry, Michelle Murray, Kendra Motsay, Julie Palumbo, and Carol Grochowski. She leaves her grandnieces, Rachel and Peyton, grandnephew, Austin, great-grandniece, Stella, and great-grandnephew, Luca. In addition, she leaves her loving friends, Brian Burke and Melissa Giegucz. She will be fondly remembered by the Leroy Wheeland Family.

A time to visit with friends and family will take place on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion at 10:00 am. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. David D. Tietje of St. John's United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, 105 N. Front Street, Suite 106 Rear, Harrisburg, PA 17101 or to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
