IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen Bridgett
Jacques
June 12, 1946 – October 20, 2025
Kathleen Jacques went home to God on Monday, October 20, 2025.
Born on June 12, 1946, in Oyster Bay, New York, to John and Katherine Amott (both deceased), she was the third of nine children.
Coming of age in the '60s, Kathy was an advocate for equal pay and equal education for women.
Her career as a critical care nurse spanned nearly four decades and defined Kathleen's personality as a caregiver.
In 1969, Kathy married Jeffrey Jacques of Warwick, RI. They raised three children and enjoyed camping, going to the beach, spending time with extended family, and traveling when they could.
Although she was not a churchgoer later in life, Kathy held to her Catholic roots and her faith in God and Jesus.
Kathy is predeceased by her parents; three brothers, John James Amott, Thomas Amott, and William Amott; and her husband Jeff, who passed away in 2013 from pancreatic cancer.
Kathy leaves behind her children: Kerrie Reinke (Hank), Michael, and Peter; three grandchildren, Arianna Jacques (Michael), and Jay and Harry Reinke (Kerrie & Hank).
She also leaves her four sisters: Maureen Pizzo, Wendy McDonald, Mary-Lou Esposito, and Rita Amott; her brother, Richard Amott; her in-laws; 21 nieces and nephews; and their children.
There will not be a funeral service, per Kathleen's request. A celebration of life will be announced on social media, and interment will take place at a later date at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pappus House, where Kathy spent her final days, being cared for and comforted in the same way she once cared for and comforted others.
